Zornac: In the near future-

Emma: Courts of law go super fast?

Zornac: That, but something else also happens. The world is set to be dominated by the next generation: the machine.

Discord: Guess which franchises have some of the best examples of evil robots: Star Wars and Killer Instinct, that's right!

The Soldier: General Grievous, number one enemy for all Jedi!

Emma: And Fulgore, Ultratech's sadistic killer cyborg!

Zornac: She's Emma, that's The Soldier, and I'm Zornac. Joining us today is Discord from Edge's hosting crew to help us analyze these robots and their weapons, armor, and skills, in order to find out who would win...a DEATH BATTLE!!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

General Grievous
Real Name: Qymaen jai Sheelal
Species: Kaleesh (Cyborg)
Place of Birth: Kalee
Height: 7'1''
Weight: 350.5 lb

FEATS:
-Revered, as Qymaen jai Sheelal (before he was mechanized), as a demigod and warlord
-Became the most prolific of Jedi killers since Gen'Dai bounty hunter Durge
-Slaughtered many Jedi, from Padawans to even Masters
-Commanded the Droid Armies during the Clone Wars
-Could even counter and respond against Mace Windu's Vaapad style in a one-on-one duel

Zornac: Before he was General Grievous of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Qymaen jai Sheelal was born a Kaleesh - a reptilian-like alien species locked in conflict with the technologically-superior insectoid species, the Yam'rii (also known as the Huk), who coveted the usage of the Kaleesh as slaves for their own people. This conflict was known as the Huk War.

Discord: ...wait, I thought that was no longer canon, as of Disney's-

The Soldier: Eh, those mouse-lovin' sissies and J.J. Abrams ain't a thing in my book!

Zornac: I actually kind of like-

The Soldier: REFER TO ME AS CAPTAIN, SOLDIER!

Discord: Anywhom, Sheelal was, during his youth, closest to a female Kaleesh warrior and mercenary named Ronderu lij Kummar. This close bond led to Kummar and Sheelal becoming partners against the oppressive Huk, both donning masks and mercilessly cutting down the Huk invaders in countless campaigns. Their reputations were LEGENDARY. Two demigods, blessed by their ancestors, out to do what no other before them could ever accomplish and squash... the... bugs... *realizes he had just stepped on a beetle* ...heheh... oh look, I squashed a... bug... heheh... Um... you guys go ahead and move on, I've got to wash this off quickly...

Emma: These guys have some weird names, you know! Next you'll be telling me there's some dude named Maul in this damn franchise!

Zornac: Actually, there is.

Emma: GODDAMMIT!

The Soldier: However, during one engagement on the beaches of Kalee, things went horribly wrong. The two were ambushed. Kummar died violently on the Huks' barbed spears, and her body forever lost to Sheelal, vanished in the Jenuwaa Sea. Driven to despair, and a psychotic depression, the Kaleesh named Sheelal died that day. Despite his attempts to bury his grief, including taking ten wives and siring thirty children-

Discord: Must have some family jewels for that! Oh yeah, I'm back. Damn thing won't come off!

The Soldier: -he realized that his destiny was to mourn for her as long as he lived. And so died Qymaen jai Sheelal... and, on that day, was born General Grievous.

Discord: So impatient, these kids are today... *sighs, shaking his head* Anyway, gathering the most bloodthirsty of Kaleesh elites, Grievous began a violent, bloody campaign to effectively purge the entire galaxy of his sworn enemies. Until the Huks appealed to the Republic, they sent the Jedi, and the Kaleesh suffered heavy fines and embargoes, starving many of them to death and plunging the planet into poverty.

Emma: Ouch. Well, bastards had it coming for mass murder. What do you say, Soldier?

The Soldier: AAAAAAAIIIIYEYEYYEYEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

Emma: HOLY SHIT!! HE'S FLYING!

Zornac: Methinks he's just using his Rocket Jump.

Discord: Things only get worse here, however... Grievous, eventually, took command of the InterGalactic Banking Clan's private army of droids, giving him a life with purpose (read: combat) once more, and helping Kalee to recover from its economic despair. It was under him that production on the IG-100 MagnaGuards began, programmed specifically to study Grievous' fighting style, and learn to fight, just as his old war buddies did... Theeeeeen again, Grievous initially hated the droids, so...

Emma: Can we skip to the part where he becomes a robot now?

Discord: CYBORG. And, alright, alright... Once reports of the Huk violating Kaleesh burial grounds on the colony worlds, and claims that the Republic had done nothing, reached Grievous' ears, he reacted about as well as you can expect... for a man who spent his entire life fighting bugs, leading his forces to glory, fighting more bugs, and mourning his loved one who was KILLED by said bugs... Meaning he abandoned his contract, returned to Kalee and resolved to avenge the desecration and resume the Huk War...

Zornac: Until his former employers and Dooku intervened. Planting an ion bomb onto Grievous' troop shuttle "the Martyr" and rigging the pilot seat to enable remote-guided ejection, the explosion destroyed the Martyr, killed all of Grievous' war buddies, and utterly DESTROYED his body. The only thing keeping him alive before he reached Geonosis was Dooku's Sith heart stun technique. There, Grievous was reassembled as a cyborg, manipulated into believing that the Jedi were responsible for the attack...

Discord: And the rest, shall we say, is history. Grievous would become the infamous Jedi-killing cyborg General of the Clone Wars... effectively becoming the Separatists' own RoboCop!

Emma: Someone summarize this for me.

Zornac: Two warriors, man and woman, fight in a war, woman dies, man gets angry and tries to go on, but he can't. Begin bloodthirsty revenge quest, which leads his home planet into crisis. Said crisis gets kinda solved but is ultimately ruined in his mind. Man goes on his own, friends betray him and he becomes a killer cyborg and now swears revenge on the supposed culprits.

Emma: Whoah! Now THAT is dark! Anyways, Grievous' cyborg body is made of duranium and white armorplast, loosely modeled off of the Krath War Droid, to protect his vulnerable, damaged organic parts. The exoskeleton also augmented Grievous' physicality--his cybernetic parts making him stronger, tougher, more agile, faster and even more flexible than the average organic. Nothing could slow him down, not even the loss of a limb.

Discord: His taloned LX-44 legs are specially magnetized, allowing him to remain sturdy, even when struck by a sudden change of gravity or a Force Push. Of course, as a cyborg, Grievous STILL has those little fleshy things that you humans call "vital organs".

Zornac: ...Don't you?

Discord: ...I don't actually know... I mean, I am a spirit, technically, but... Hmm... this IS a paradox... Perhaps I should take my skin off for a second so we can-

Zornac: NO, NO, that won't be necessary! Grievous' vital organs are protected in a special synthskin gutsack, eliminating the need to breathe or eat, and even allowing him to survive the vacuum of space.

EXOSKELETON:
Loosely modeled after Krath War Droid
-Augments speed, reflexes, strength, durability, agility and flexibility
-Equipped with LX-44 prosthetic legs
* Taloned and magnetized
* Designed specifically to allow Grievous to adapt to sudden shifts gravity or repulsive forces (i.e. Force Push)
* Can crush and grip
* Built-in repulsorlifts let his legs double as arms
-Made of duranium and white armorplast
* High melting point
* Can withstand blaster bolts and lightsaber glances
-Vital organs kept in a synthskin gutsack
* Eliminates the need to eat or breathe
* Can protect Grievous from the vacuum of space

Discord: But, we all know why you're here. Not to know what he's MADE OF... nonono, you're here to know what ways he prefers to use to murder people. You weird, weird deviantART people, you...

Emma: General Grievous specializes in lightsaber combat, being perhaps one of the most dangerous non-Force sensitive lightsaber wielders in the Star Wars universe. Unlike a Jedi or a Sith, however, he did not craft any of these personally. Instead, he pried these weapons from the cold, lifeless, icy grip of Jedi that he personally put an end to.

Discord: ...which speaks volumes about the man's ability, when you realize that he wields not one, not two... but, in fact, FOUR of these things...

(Grievous' arms split down the center, extending and transforming into four arms, each one igniting a lightsaber hilt.)

Emma: Four swords are better than one, that's for certain!

Discord: Methinks someone is trying to compensate for something... Doesn't help that his LEGS can also double as hands, due to his repulsorlifts, meaning he can wield up to FIVE OR EVEN SIX OF THESE THINGS at once.

Zornac: Yeah, killing machine is an understatement. He uses his FEET to stab people!

Emma: Grievous does not actually specialize in any defined form of lightsaber combat. Instead, he combines various styles with his own improvised techniques, designed specifically to adapt his cyborg build. Due to his unique body, he can rotate his wrists and torso in a 360 degree motion of extremely fast speeds continuously, allowing him to either - with his wrists - attack with as many as twenty strikes per second; or, if he spins both his torso and his wrists, can effectively make himself into a lightsaber buzzsaw.

Discord: That is OFFICIALLY the most awesome thing I have ever heard of. Although, apparently, his reliance on flurries of attacks is an indicator of his lack of finesse, which often frustrates the Separatist leader.

Zornac: Advanced combat algorithms in his brain allow him to also analyze most of his opponents' attacks and respond in kind with a retaliation.

Emma: He could even calculate a response to the deadly fighting style of SAMUEL L. MOTHERBUCKING JACK-wait, why did I just get censored?

Discord: I may be endorsing this show about fictional characters killing each other, but I must still retain my wholesome "child-friendly" image SOMEHOW. ^^ Aaaaaand his name is "Mace Windu" in this film.

Zornac: Grievous is also skilled in wielding weapons other than just the lightsabers. He also wields an electrostaff: an ultralight, electronic phrik-alloy staff the signature weapons of his IG-100 MagnaGuards, which emit electrical discharges via electromagnetic pulse-generating tips, and can resist weapon clashes with lightsabers. Figuring out the length of these was not easy... but, judging by Grievous' height, it is likely that - due to his size - he would wield an electrostaff with a size of around 9 ft--the longest size of the weapon's inspiration, a real-life bo.

Emma: Grievous also carries a grappling hook stored in his arm, which can latch onto warship hulls and bend its metal. And, unlike Jedi, he's certainly no kitty... wait, kitty? This censoring is going to get VERY annoying VERY FAST, isn't it?

Discord: More likely than not, yes.

Emma: Ahem... as I was saying, he also keeps a blaster stored in his leg compartment.

Discord: And, unlike your classic, goody-goody two-shoes Jedi or even many proud and too-angry-for-their-own-good Sith Lords, Grievous... is not above cheating. He is a master tactician, his strategic prowess honed and finessed by the wars he has fought in, and he has won many battles for the CIS, as well as defeated many a Jedi using the strengths of his fighting style in combination with the odd underhanded move... such as just shooting a Jedi with his blaster at one point.

Emma: This guy is gonna get along perfectly with Indiana Jones and Kai Leng!

FIGHTING STYLE:
Mentored in lightsaber combat by Count Dooku
Uses an improvised fighting style, designed to work best with his mechanical body
-Taught multiple lightsaber techniques
* Focuses on lightning-fast flurries and power moves
-Torso, shoulders and wrists can rotate at 360 degrees
* Allows him to deliver up to 20 strikes per second
* Can transform himself into a "light-buzzsaw"
-Enhanced sensory capabilities due to unique algorithms in his brain
* Can analyze and quickly respond to an opponent's fighting style
-Cybernetic arms can split into four
* Allows him to wield four lightsabers at once
* Capable of wielding up to six lightsabers, using repulsorlifts in feet
Master Tactician
-Fought in both the Huk War and the Clone Wars
-Won many battles for the CIS and Kaleesh

WEAPONS AND GEAR:
Lightsabers
-Preferred weapons of choice
* Length: 66 in (1.7 m)
* Weight: 2.2 lb (1kg)
* Material(s): Metal hilt; focusing crystal core; plasma blade
-Capable of cutting through most matter
-Specializes in wielding four at one time
Electrostaff
-Signature weapons of Grievous' MagnaGuard
* Length: 9ft (2.7 m)
* Weight: 2kg (4.4 lb)
* Material(s): Phrik alloy
-Equipped with electromagnetic pulse-generating tips
-Generates electricity, used to incapacitate an opponent
Grappling Hook
-Stored in arm
-Equipped with a bladed hook
-Used to latch onto surfaces, such as warship hulls

Discord: But, in spite of Grievous' ferocity and skill in combat, like all machines in fiction, there always seems to be a few weaknesses that the little organics can use to overcome the mechanical monster. The greatest, of course, of these weaknesses being his organic parts. If you damage the organs, you cripple the good General considerably, as Mace Windu managed to after crushing his chest plate and damaging his lungs. And Obi-Wan Kenobi managed to kill Grievous in combat by shooting his synthskin sack with a blaster bolt, roasting everything inside of it... in a fiery explosion, of course.

Emma: Hollywood, people! Where the bad guys randomly explode after getting their ass whooped!

Zornac: Grievous is also a very arrogant warrior, with a tendency to brag and gloat during fights, and underestimate his opponents. Which proved to be his downfall when he dueled Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Emma: And, finally, Grievous has this tendency to RUN whenever things start to look ugly for him... Heh, coward... Sometimes, this works in terms of giving him time to come up with a strategy to retaliate; other times, it could imply that - despite his new, empowered body - he has a lack of confidence of himself, compared to his days as a Kaleesh war hero.

WEAKNESSES:
Organic parts are vulnerable
-Mace Windu crippled Grievous successfully by crushing his chest plate and damaging his lungs
-Was killed by a blaster bolt to his synthskin sack
Proud and arrogant
-Tends to gloat and underestimate opponents initially
Tends to retreat when at a disadvantage

Discord: In spite of these, Grievous is widely considered one of the greatest cyborgs there ever has been for good reason. He is fast, he is cunning, he is UTTERLY RUTHLESS, and - to the fans - will always be known and feared... as a lean, mean, Jedi-butchering machine...

The Soldier: Hey guys! Sorry, I was busy getting acquainted to the ground! It wanted to marry me today, in fact! But I ain't getting married to that stinking floor, hell no! So what did I miss?

Discord: Everything relating to Grievous.

The Soldier: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

(General Grievous: Jedi! You are surrounded, your army is decimated. Make peace with the Force now…for this is your final hour. But know that I, General Grievous, am not completely without mercy. I will grant you a warrior's death. Prepare!)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fulgore
First Appearance: Killer Instinct 1994)
Height: 6'5''
Weight: 550 lbs
Species: Cyborg (formerly human)

FEATS:
Defeated T.J. Combo and Black Orchid
Mind of a former KI champion
Took 2 demigod killers to slay him

The Soldier: Heh! More robots!

Zornac: In the world of Killer Instinct, there is no law or government in the universe to keep the streets in check. The figure with most authority is the mega corporation UltraTech.

Discord: Why, what a name! I suppose that's why they call those fighting moves "Ultra Combos", eh?

Emma: Because some people are just greedy ducks, the chairman of the company, to be precise, the fighting machine Fulgore was developed and eventually came to existence. About 15 million of these bots were sold, but there was one huge problem: there was no A.I. that could control Fulgore efficiently.

The Soldier: And so, the programmers knew they needed to give him a human brain. A brain of an experienced combatant, and where else to look but one of their top enemies and past victor in their fighting tournaments? Black Eagle, a Native American warrior, fit the bill perfectly. Not only did he enter one of their tournaments and won, but he was protesting against them! So, UltraTech decided to kill two birds with one stone by killing Eagle and using his brain to give Fulgore a combatant's mind.

Discord: Black Eagle was a user of a Native American martial art which I really can't pronounce. Said fighting style uses short ranged blades in a mix of Judo, Taekwondo, and Hapkido, efficient and popular martial arts. The "short blade" part is filled with some incredibly strong plasma claws, which can cut through nearly every metal with temperatures reaching over 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit. I'm sure he could make a wonderful tool in a zombie apocalypse...and a partner in crime for busting safes, eh?!

The Soldier: I fucking hate safes.

Discord: Well, so do- WHAT?! YOU BROKE MY CENSORING?!

The Soldier: Heheh, boy! Being from an M-rated game gives you some magic!

Emma: Sounds like some awesome magic! Can I have it? Pleaaaaassseeee?

The Soldier: Meh.

GADGETS AND MOVES:
-Electric Shocker: Shoots an electric blast from his eyes
-Plasma Claws: Two giant claws on each hand that can cut through any metal

-Plasma Storm: Shoots 3 electric bolts from his claws
-Eye Lasers
-Reflector: Reflects any projectile
-Cyber Dash: Dashes in a straight line with his claws outstretched
-Cyber Port: Teleports behind his enemy
-Cloaking Device: Turns Fulgore invisible

Zornac: Anyways, Fulgore packs a bunch of awesome abilities that any robot should have! He can shoot electric bolts from his plasma claws, can shoot laser beams and electricity from his eyes, a reflector to keep projectiles away, and teleporting and cloaking devices to deceive his opponent.

Emma: Sounds like some sort of Robo-Batman! I like the ring to that, honestly.

Discord: We cannot, however, forget his power source: a nuclear reactor in his chest. This reactor can be manually overclocked by Fulgore, but there are two other methods to charge it: beating the crap out of everything, which slowly charges his meter, and Instinct Mode, which automatically fills the meter. When fully charged, the reactor gives him a massive power and speed boost, and use the one and only Devastation Beam, a powerful chest laser.

NUCLEAR REACTOR:
-Stored in his chest
-Has a meter that can be filled in three ways:
-1: Overclocking it manually
-2: Landing several hits
-3: Instinct Mode, which automatically fills the entire bar
-Filling the meter gives him a massive boost in speed and strength
-If meter is full, can also fire the Devastation Beam, which is a powerful chest laser

The Soldier: Finally, to finish off his foes, he has No Mercies, which are basically toned down Fatalities. Said finishing moves include summoning a spaceship to vaporize some bitches-

Discord: WHAT?! AGAIN?

The Soldier: And turning into a bulky machine with some nifty guns. This guy would make a great fit in the RED Team.

NO MERCIES:
-Turret Morph: Switches his head into a turret that fires at his stunned foe
-Laser Site: Fires a combo of eye lasers at his enemy, killing them
-Machine Morph: Turns into a war machine that switches its hands into machine guns, which he fires on his opponent
-Terminator: Summons a spaceship from the sky that fires a laser at his enemy, whom instantly vaporizes

Zornac: However, Fulgore, like any other villain, can't get past a goody-two shoes stopping his evil ways. To be specific, the warrior monk from Tibet, Jago, whom upon first meeting him literally tore him apart. He has constantly tried, but he cannot defeat nor kill Jago.

Emma: Worth mentioning that overclocking his reactor also leaves him wide open for attacks , thus giving him a disadvantage that can possible decide the match.

WEAKNESSES:
-Never defeated Jago
-Charging his reactor leaves him defenseless

The Soldier: Fulgore is a cold-hearted machine. Get in his way and he will tear you apart. But now it's time to find out if he can destroy a fellow cyborg general.

(Defeats Chief Thunder with ease, and proceeds to fire his Devastation Beam.)
Gotta love robots. Bitches love robots.

Does Grievous tear apart Fulgore and turn him into a pile of scrap? Or does Fulgore claw his way out of this one?

Thanks for :iconwildgun-edge: giving me a spectacular Grievous profile!

And, thanks to :iconsonicpal: for the thumbnail!

Okay, so Grievous is clearly the faster of the two, and will likely run circles around Fulgore...but Fulgore can probably tank most of what Grievous can throw at him. And once Fulgore gets in for a combo, Grievous is likely to take some pretty nasty hits. Killer Instinct characters are masters of combo damage, so if Fulgore can get enough combos in as well as gain enough time to charge his devastation beam, I'd say he's got a pretty fair shot at winning this. However, since Grievous fights with six weapons at once, I think it's fair to say that he's also no slouch when it comes to combo attacks. And lightsabers are said to be able to cut through anything... I'm not too sure if Sektor's pulse blades [I think that's what they were called] are the same as lightsabers, but if Grievous can think his way through this, avoid getting caught up in too many combos, and prevent Fulgore from charging the beam long enough, he stands a chance of winning as well. It could go either way... Sorry if I'm not too good at this.
